Hi, and welcome to the website of Carlingford Uniting Church. It's great that you are visiting this site.
If you are new to the Carlingford area and are exploring where you might find a Christian community to identify with, we invite you to continue reading this website to see what makes Carlingford Uniting Church a good place to identify and associate with.
We pride ourselves in being a multi-cultural, Christian Protestant church which welcomes anyone seeking to know more of, or worship, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are part of the Uniting Church in Australia, the third largest denominational group in Australia. The Uniting Church was formed in 1977 through the merger of the Methodist Church and components of the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches.
In addition to our Sunday worship services, we cater for women who have an interest in knitting, quilting and other handwork projects. We call this group WoW! or Women on Wednesday!. You can find more information about this group in the Events drop-down menu entitled "WoW".
Our other specific mission program is called mainly music. This is a music and fun morning provided to pre-school children and their mothers/fathers or carers. You can find more information about this group in the Events drop-down menu entitled "mainly music".
We also conduct seasonal Bible Studies usually in the lead-up to Easter. More information can be found about the 2024 series in the Events drop-down menu entitled "Easter studies".
Congregation members are generous givers donating non-perishable foodstuffs each week for delivery to Hope Connect a charity serving the people of the Dundas/ Telopea and Ermington areas. Regular deliveries of the food gifts are made.
The congregation is a generous supporter of local churches involved in Special Religious Education in local primary schools through the contribution of financial aid for the purchase of class room material.
The following sections provide a synopsis of a typical Sunday morning at Carlingford Uniting Church. More details will be found in the drop-down menu headed Events and search for "Sunday Worship".
Recognising our congregation is multi-cultural with a broad range of ages, we have designed our worship services on Sunday mornings to take a variety of formats. At times it is a little contemporary; at other times more traditional. We believe there is sufficient flexibility, with a little understanding and graciousness, for our services to be relevant to all who attend.
Our worship service is on Sunday morning at 9.15am, in the church (however, we have been known to meet in one of the halls - where air conditioning has been installed - in the heat of summer!). Irrespective of where we meet, we would love you to join us as we sing together, pray, read the Bible and hear the Word of God preached.
All are welcome to an informal time of fellowship over morning tea, held after the service, where we can share news with one another.
Children are welcome at our church. We invite children to come to our church service.
We have a parking area right in front of the church facade, looking onto Pennant Hills Road. There are handicapped parking spaces in the car park, near the mobility ramp access to the church. Entrance to the car park is from Shirley Street. If the car park is full, parking is available on Shirley Street and other adjoining streets.
The nearest bus stop when coming from Parramatta is "Pennant Hills Rd at Lloyds Ave", which is a 4 min (350 m) walk. When coming from Epping, we recommend you alight at "Pennant Hills Rd opp Lloyds Ave" stop for safety reasons. This is a 4 min (350 m) walk from our Church. These bus stops are on the M54 and 546 routes.
If you are using a mobile phone, you can make use of the map provided on the Get in touch page.
